How Spokane, WA entertains: comedy, big shows and ballgames

Spokane’s live scene leans on three very different stages: a busy comedy club, a major performing arts hall, and a hometown ballpark. Spokane Comedy Club is one of the city’s most active rooms, regularly bringing in stand-up names and multi-night runs that anchor the local comedy calendar.

First Interstate Center for the Arts hosts larger-scale shows, from touring productions to big-ticket concerts and special events. Avista Stadium adds a sports angle to going out in Spokane, with a full slate of baseball games and related promotions that feel very different from a night in a theater or club.

If you’re deciding what kind of night out you want, those three venues frame most of the big choices: laughs, large indoor shows, or live baseball.

Spokane Comedy Club, First Interstate Center & Avista Stadium: choosing your night out

If you want a night built around stand-up, Spokane Comedy Club is the city’s dedicated comedy room and one of its most active stages, so it’s a strong first stop when you’re hunting for touring comics or weekend shows. For bigger productions, First Interstate Center for the Arts is where Spokane typically sees large concerts, touring theater, and special one-off events, making it the best fit when you’re after a big-room feel and higher-profile acts.

When it’s baseball season, Avista Stadium shifts the city’s attention outdoors with home games and themed nights that turn an evening out into a full ballpark experience. Skimming upcoming dates at these three spots will quickly show you whether Spokane is leaning more toward comedy, major shows, or home games during the time you’re planning to go out.
