St. Petersburg, FL

St. Petersburg Live Events: Tropicana Field, Jannus Live, and Nearby Markets

St. Petersburg’s live calendar leans heavily on two launched anchors: Tropicana Field for large stadium-scale events and Jannus Live for outdoor courtyard concerts and touring acts. If you’re choosing a night out in the city, most of the biggest dates on the local schedule will run through one of these two venues.

For more options on the same trip, many visitors also look at nearby Tampa and the wider Tampa Bay area for additional arenas, theaters, and clubs when St. Petersburg’s limited set of major venues isn’t running something that fits.

Tropicana Field and Jannus Live: What Each St. Petersburg Venue Is Known For

Tropicana Field is St. Petersburg’s large indoor stadium, used for big-ticket events that need a lot of seats under one roof. When a major show or large-scale gathering comes through the city, it is likely to land here, so this is the venue to watch if you are after the biggest productions in town.

Jannus Live, by contrast, is an outdoor concert venue that has become one of St. Petersburg’s busiest rooms for live music. Its courtyard setting makes it a natural fit for standing-room shows and touring bands. If you are looking for a night out built around a concert rather than a stadium-scale event, checking the calendar at Jannus Live is often the best starting point.
