Second City Mainstage Revue refers to the live shows presented on the mainstage at Second City in Chicago. These revues are known for bringing together ensembles of performers for an evening of comedy built from sketches, characters, and other live material. Each production is created for the stage, so the specific content, cast, and style can change from one run to the next.

What ties the revues together is the focus on ensemble performance and a full-length program designed for an in-person audience. Because the show is tied to the Mainstage at Second City, audiences can expect a theater-style setting and a performance that is structured as a complete night out rather than a short set.

The current ticket listings on this page reflect the latest iteration of the Second City Mainstage Revue that is open to the public.

A Second City Mainstage Revue is presented as a live stage show, with a set start time and a seated audience at the Mainstage at Second City in Chicago. While each production is unique, these revues are typically built around a series of scenes and segments that flow together over the course of the evening.

The focus is on live performance, so timing, delivery, and interaction with the room all play a role in how the show unfolds. The ensemble format means multiple performers share the stage, shifting between different characters and scenarios as the show progresses. Because the revue is presented in a theater environment, audiences generally arrive ahead of the posted start time, find their seats, and settle in for a continuous performance.

Intermissions and exact running time can vary by production, and the event listing you select in the calendar will have the most up-to-date basic details for that specific show.
